By acting as a design consultant/mentor to my assigned first year group I have been able to guide their work process and advise research to broaden their visual vocabulary. In being part of this process I have reflected far better on my own A-Level work and even many of my current habits, allowing me to improve and evolve as a designer along with my 1st year students.

By encouraging my students to explore artistic movements that are polar opposites to their current interests, they may find links and ties that would have gone otherwise unnoticed that provide a new level of depth to their responses and enable them to produce pieces that carry both explicit and implicit value.
