Using the tutorial on the Paranoiac 1920s, creating art inspired by the surrealist movement emerging in response to World War 1, I photoshopped an apple to make it square. The sloppiness around the edges of the fake slice are excusable in my eyes as they mirror the movement's roots: neither realistically accurate nor aesthetically pleasing.

Instead, emotional response and a sense of unease are the most important details. However I didn't feel a simple square apple pushed these traits far enough, so I thought a square apple that is also meat inside would be a step in the right direction!

Finally, mocking it up in an otherwise totally normal scene concludes my attempt to push the tutorial's contents several steps deeper into the world of surrealism!
Finding a better scene with a more consistent perspective would elevate my work further, as would knowing how to properly blend the apple with its fake meat slice, however for a quick proof of understanding I am happy with the result.
